This series meets monthly on the second orange Tuesday, Noon to 1:30 p.m. This is a monthly CME opportunity to learn about updates in the management of hematology patients. Some of the topics to be presented in 2019 include: chronic neutophilic leukemia, management of depression in cancer patients, PFT basics and associated lung disease, hematology APP fellowship program, supportive cares of patients with hematologic malignancy, and stiff person syndrome/ASCT.
TARGET AUDIENCE
NPs and PAs specializing in inpatient hematology, outpatient hematology, and blood and marrow transplant. Providers range in years of experience, but all specialize in the management of hem/BMT patients.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe unique diagnoses like VEXAS syndrome
- Review the diagnostic approach and differential for patients presenting with neuropathy
- Explain how to provide evidence-based management of common issues in cancer patients
- Describe how to provide quality supportive care in cancer patients to avoid preventable complications
- Describe unique diagnoses like chronic neutrophilic leukemia or stiff person syndrome
- Explain how to provide evidence-based management of common issues like depression in cancer patients
- Describe how to provide quality supportive care in cancer patients to avoid preventable complications
- Discuss issues like the education of APPs, and the benefits of advanced training such as in fellowship programs
