PRESENTERS BIO
Daniel Frendl, M.D., Ph.D., is an Associate Consultant in Urology at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. His clinical practice interests include focal therapies for prostate cancer, transperineal prostate biopsy, and general urology. His academic interests are at the intersection of health services research, health policy, and healthcare administration. Dr. Frendl completed his Urology training at the Massachusetts General Hospital – Harvard Urologic Surgery Residency Program. At MGH, Dr. Frendl also completed a fellowship in Healthcare Policy and Administration with the Massachusetts General Hospital Physician’s Organization. During his fellowship training, he focused on developing a value-based framework for assessing prostate cancer surgical outcomes and helped to develop a new model of surgical care delivery through the Surgical Hospital at Home Program, allowing patients to receive inpatient-level postoperative care out of the hospital. Nationally, he served as the 2019-2020 American Urological Association Holtgrewe Legislative Advocacy Fellow and worked as a Health Policy Fellow for U.S. Senator Mitt Romney. He earned his undergraduate degree in Public Policy at Duke University and his MD and PhD in Clinical and Population Health Research at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
