This intensive course offers a thorough examination of tuberculosis infection, disease, and clinical care, with a focus on diagnosing and treating both TB disease and latent TB infection (LTBI). The course itinerary has been designed to cater to the specific requirements of physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners featuring a combination of lectures and interactive case review sessions.
Complimentary full breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided to all attendees!
Target Audience
This course is designed for physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners working in a public or private healthcare setting.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course participants will be able to:
- Identify diagnostic strategies for the detection of M. tuberculosis.
- Recognize appropriate treatment plans for TB disease and Latent TB infection.
- Identify unique considerations for children with TB.

The Education & Research Center (ERC) is located on level 1 of the Iowa Methodist Parking Garage. The Iowa Methodist Parking Garage is located on the west side of the Iowa Methodist campus, on the corner of Pleasant St. and 14th Place. We recommend parking in the Iowa Methodist Parking Garage and take the South parking garage elevators to the first floor. After exiting the elevator, you will be in the ERC. You may also enter the ERC from the Woodland Avenue entrance.
