Symptom Recognition and Effective Management of Tuberculosis (TB)

This session is designed to equip healthcare providers with the skills and knowledge to recognize and respond to symptoms in patients with suspected or confirmed tuberculosis (TB). Attendees will learn to identify early TB symptoms and distinguish them from those that appear as the disease progresses to an active stage, enabling earlier detection and more effective patient management.

Target Audience

This event is designed for a diverse audience of healthcare professionals, including Allied Health Professionals, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, Pharmacists, Residents and Fellows, as well as Public Health Professionals and Healthcare Administrators.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify key symptoms and risk factors in patients with suspected or confirmed tuberculosis (TB) for timely action.
  • Distinguish between early TB symptoms and those indicating advanced disease to catch TB earlier and reduce infectiousness.
  • Use evidence-based methods to assess symptoms and risk factors, ensuring accurate diagnosis and proper care for TB patients.
