COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course highlights essential and emerging topics in cardiology to ensure clinicians remain up to date with current practices. Emphasis will be placed on real-world cases, the latest clinical guidelines, and contemporary management strategies. The diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of common cardiac rhythm disorders—including atrial fibrillation and ventricular arrhythmias—will be reviewed in detail. The course will also explore complex clinical aspects of congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and myocardial disorders.

Through interactive case-based presentations, expert-led lectures, and faculty panel discussions, attendees will gain practical tools to improve patient care. Special sessions will feature ECG interpretation pearls applicable across various cardiology settings. Mayo Clinic and guest faculty will share clinical insights and key takeaways to support the everyday practice of cardiovascular medicine.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • recognize the electrical signatures of common arrhythmia;
  • discuss optimal treatment approaches of common arrhythmia;
  • apply current guidelines and recent clinical trial evidence for the management of heart failure;
  • identify appropriate anticoagulation strategies for atrial fibrillation; and, 
  • summarize a general overview of the current state of artificial intelligence in cardiology.
